Our first Bee was N6444K which we operated out of Harbor Springs MI until it was destroyed in a hanger fire in 1992. In 1994, we purchased Bob Redners' fine Bee N6283K  (#496) and operated it until 2000 I believe.  It is now owned by Brigid Blasch and Gus Warren.
Also in 2000, we purchased #60 which we are now restoring.  This airplane has a new registration number of N124AC.  We have more or less stalled out on the restoration and could use some help.  We are installing a Continental IO-470P  on this aircraft, which came out of a Lane Riviera.

The doctors have installed the Corvette engine
and are especially happy with the performance!
9.8 gal. per hour! This is at 24" and 3200 rpm on the V8 at 106 mph. We are quite impressed.

FAA Orlando Flight Standards-Airworthiness Safety Program Manager

My project is S/N 68, N87515. She has been down for many years with willful intents and I just acquired the project from a fellow aviator friend that kind of "passed it on...." since he was getting a bit long of tooth.... I will attach a photo of the Bee from it's previous life in storage before extraction (you'll see what I mean....)  These birds wind up in the strangest places.....
Unfortunately (or I like to think fortunately) I am a fed; but a good fed.  I transferred from the NTSB to the FAA after sixteen years of accident investigation.  I now much prefer working with live people and especially children. I am an Airworthiness Inspector in the role of a Safety Program Manager on the education side of the house, not enforcement.
Recovering from a divorce $$$ several years ago has left my means for a fun project limited.  You will see me wiggle a little over dropping a grand here and there...have a great woman in the picture now that can't wait to get the Bee going (her name is Melody and we will tie the knot this coming year) ..If I hit the lotto tomorrow, looking seriously into the Corvette LT-1 conversion from Richardson in Canada with an Experimental category until we can lobby Washington to open up an "Owner Maintained" category for aircraft no longer in production with no type certificate support or parts.....

410 hours TT on A & E. Franklin B8F
Would love to come over an get wet with you someday.....flew floats in Canada but its been a while.....have a little over 2,000 hours Commercial Instrument ASMEL, tailwheel 400 + hours.
Best Regards & hope your new year is happy.

According to Les, when he bought this Seabee it had under 1000 hrs. total time and had not flown for twenty years. Les has restored the airframe and now re-building the engine.

According to Bob this is a true McHugh simuflight Seabee and he is very happy with the performance. The simuflight modifications are well designed and engineered making this Bee a true four-place aircraft.
